KATOI

When your experience takes you a step further, and you are seeking accommodation that is in itself a destination, then you have chosen the ideal place. As if taken out of a fantasy novel, it is governed by romance and an intense atmosphere, promising a unique stay.

Upon your arrival you will find everything you need in the kitchen for a wonderful breakfast. Coffee and tea from the mountains of Crete, called Malotira. (ask us how to make it), our very own olive oil and wine, tsikoudia (a Cretan spirit) for sweet dreams, savory cheesepies from yiayia (grandmother), chocolate cake for your afternoon coffee or tea, and seasonal fruits.

What does the word Katoi mean?

​

Katoi in the Cretan dialect means the part of a rural house that is built below the surface of the earth, and is used as a food warehouse or stable for animals.

THE SPACE

​

The space is ideal for a couple, but can also accommodate a child.

It consists of an open kitchen, a comfortable sofa, a heirloom family table made out of solid wood. The walls have been preserved with unadulterated stone, while natural materials, such as the old wooden beams, give a minimalist aesthetic to the accommodation.

The double bed with the beautiful mosquito net and the comfortable mattress with natural fibers guarantee a quality sleep.

The warm lighting and the beautiful terrace overlooking the sea, all come together to compose an elegant setting.
